How to Romanticize your life this Autumn

Happy Sunday! š
Welcome to another Pink Sunday Love Blog post.
Today we are talking about the art of romanticizing your life, and how to romanticize the Autumn season.
Sometimes in life, we can get too distracted with our jobs, goals, or simply everyday tasks.
And then one day you wake up, and realise all these moments just slipped away.
And perhaps you want to slow down and find time to enjoy and appreciate the little things in life, or maybe you want to spice up your autumn this season.
Whatever it is youāre looking for, I hope that reading this will spark something in you to help you find what you were looking for.
I am writing this post because, like many others, I go through life too distracted. I have always struggled with spending most of my energy thinking about what has been, or what hasnāt been. Iām rarely ever in the present moment.
So when the present is gone, it becomes the past, and then I linger on what couldāve been.
Itās a vicious cycle really.
I donāt want all my years to merge into one big blob of seasons.
I was gifted and cursed with the power to memorise things to the tiniest detail, (although this power is fading slightly) I want to be able to look back and be able to say, this was the Summer I did this, and this was the year I did that.Ā
I donāt know exactly how it works, but I want to start by romanticizing my life.
I want to live my life like Iām in a Barbie movie, and Iām the princess with the most beautiful hair, and amazing confidence.
Iāve come up with a list of things that I will be doing this season to romanticize my life.
I am tired of just watching weeks go by. I want to enjoy every week by having something to look forward to.
Here are some of the things I came up with.
How to Romanticize your life this Autumn
Create an Autumn playlist šā¤ļø
First on the list, create an autumn playlist, this way you can have all of your favourite songs in one place.
I love creating playlists of how Iām feelings, they can be so much fun to make, and you can end up discovering new songs to love.
You can make different playlists for different moods. you can have aĀ sad rainy dayĀ playlist, or a walking through the forestĀ playlist, or even a baking pumpkin spiced cookies playlist.
And if youāre on Spotify, you can add an image to your playlist, and give it a cool name with a bunch of emojis.
And how cool would it be next year to find this playlist and re-discover all the songs you added to it.
Self-care day šš
I love a good self-care day, even though most of the time I donāt do it right. I usually just end up on my phone.
But now, this is what my perfect self-care day looks like:
First I wake up without my alarm, this way, I can stay in bed and sleep for as long as I need.
Then I have a slow morning where I make myself a nice breakfast like some pancakes, or even French toast.
While I have breakfast I put on a movie. Maybe my favourite movie, or a new one Iāve been meaning to watch.
Then I either watch some more tv, or I do some crafts.
Have some lunch, and then take a nice hot bath, or an everything shower.
when I finish, I put on a face mask and relax with a glass of wine.
Then if I have time I do my eyebrows, and then finally do my nails.
And thatās what a perfect self-care day looks like to me.
It might be different for everybody, so you just have to figure out what works for you. It might be reading, or hiking, or going shopping.
Whatever it is, itās all about romanticizing it. Make it your special day. Use this day to reflect and relax.
Baking pumpkin spiced cookies šš
This is a super fun activity! You can do it with your partner, your family, or even by yourself.
In order to romanticize this activity I would put on my Autumn playlist, then light a candle, put on some comfy sweats, and tie my hair up into a cute bun.
Then just follow the recipe, I personally like my cookies with chocolate chips.
While your waiting for them to bake, you can make some hot coco, or have some wine (if youāre of age of course).
I made some pumpkin spiced cookies the other day, and they turned out so good. I have to do it again.
Making pumpkin spice latte āØā
While weāre on the topic, another thing that I have tried was making my own pumpkin spiced latte.
I found a recipe on Pinterest, and Iāve made it a couple times.
This is a super cute activity to try this season.
There are loads of different recipes you can try, and itās a great way to make your favourite seasonal drink at home to save some money.
Decorate your space šā¤ļø
I love a good decor piece! It makes your place more aesthetic, while also giving you the perfect opportunity to romanticize the seasons.
When you decorate your space, you are taking the time to make it your own for this new season. You are giving it life.
And this doesnāt have to be huge things, or super expensive. Little pieces here and there go a long way.
Looking around my apartment right now, I have; 3 seasonal scented candles, (I do admit, itās a little much, but I have been cut off by my boyfriend to get any more...for now). 2 Adorable tiny pumpkins sitting on my tv stand. A mushroom pillow. A somewhat autumn themed blanket. And me, dressed in my Gilmore girls cosy pyjamas.
Not much, but it definitely makes the place so cosy.
Getting autumn candles šļøšÆļø
As we just discussed, I have a candle addiction.
Those 3 were just in the living room, there are many more.
But nothing says autumn quite like a good candle.
The one that is currently lit on my coffee table smells absolutely divine. Itās called Vanilla Brulee, we got it from TKMax, and I have it on all the time.
The other candle I have is shaped like a cinnamon swirl, and the lid is the middle of the swirl. And that one smells amazing! Although, itās quite small, so I only light it sometimes, I donāt want it to run out.
The newest one I bought just last week is a very nice pumpkin spiced candle, which I also love.
The only downside to candles is that Iām constantly scared somethingās going to happen and the house is going to go down in flames. So, I would suggest to keep an eye out, and light a candle responsibly.
Autumn themed hobbies ššļø
I love being crafty. I have a whole hobby trolley where I have all of my hobbies, so whenever I want to do a hobby, I can just grab my trolley, and then wheel it away.
I would highly recommend.
But in order to romanticize the season, I like to get specific themed hobbies.
I recently bought a pink Halloween themed diamond painting coasters.
I also got a Halloween themed embroidery kit. My boyfriend asked me to teach him, so he also got one, weāve been doing it together.
I have a painting book I like to bring out sometimes. I like to paint even with just a movie in the background, itās very relaxing.
And my favourite autumn craft, is probably doing a puzzle.
Thatās actually probably my favourite winter activity, but I also love doing it in the autumn.
Autumn outfits šš
I absolutely love a good autumn outfit. Thereās nothing quite like it.
I love the colours, and the layers, and the shoes!
So, in order to romanticize this, Iām thinking solo coffee date.
I have to wear a uniform for work, so I donāt get to wear super cool autumn outfits. And when I have the day off, Iām always in my pyjamas.
Thereās no reason for me to get dressed.
So we make a reason.
In fact, tomorrow I have a solo coffee date.
It gives me a reason to get dressed up, spend some time with myself, and drink a delicious pumpkin spiced latte.
Thatās what itās all about.
Autumn shows! šŗāØ
When it comes to tv shows, I am very specific with when I watch them.
I cannot watch a show in the winter, that to me, feels like a Summer show.
Which is probably why I canāt watch the Gilmore Girls season when itās Summer in the show.
But in the autumn, my favourite way to spend an afternoon is to be cosy in my favourite pyjamas, with a lit candle, drinking a pumpkin spice latte, having some snacks, and watching Gilmore Girls with my boyfriend.
Here are some of my favourite shows to watch in the autumn:
Gilmore Girls, although I have very controversial opinions, itās one of my favourite shows.
Gossip Girls, I have never been able to finish the show, but have seen the first few seasons like 5 times. Just started again, itās so good.
The vampire Diaries, Iāve been watching it with my sister. I used to watch it when I was younger, itās such a good show.
Pretty little liars, I just recently finished watching that with my sister, so I wonāt watch it this year, but itās an amazing show.
Stranger Things, me and my boyfriend want to start again because we have the last season to watch, and we canāt just watch the last season, we have to start over....obvs.
Thatās the main seasons Iām watching right now. There are some that I want to start watching like, Chilling adventures of Sabrina, and, Charmed.Ā That would be so perfect for Halloween.
Autumn movie night šæšŗ
Movie night is, dare I say, even more exciting than TV show night.
For movie night, I love to have a good selection of food.
Weāve got garlic bread, pizza or fried chicken, fries, dips.
And then for dessert, either ice cream, or cheesecake.
Or we just have some popcorn and some sweets instead.
I am very excited to start watching autumn movies.
I always like to watch a lot of Halloween movies, but not so much the super scary ones, more like the nostalgic ones.
I always watch Monster house, ParaNorman, I love Coraline, and I watched Practical Magic the other day, it was really good.
I also love Scary movie, and Final destination.
Other than that, I canāt watch horror movies, or I wonāt sleep for 3 weeks.
Autumn nails š š
One of my favourite things to do is get my nails done, which really means do my own nails.
I do my own press on nails, which is super cool, because I can just do them whenever I want, and try whatever design I want.
Lately Iāve been wanting to get red nails, so I am doing them today, and I think itās going to look so good for the season.
Part of romanticizing your life, is to put some effort into what you look like, and taking the time to get your nails done, or even do your own nails, it is almost therapeutic.
Thereās just something about taking the time to go through Pinterest, and looking for nail designs, maybe even making your own, itās so girly coded, and I love it.
Nature walking ššļø
Lastly on my list I put nature walking because, with the season changing, I absolutely love to be surrounded by the trees with orange leaves, watching them fall all around.
Whenever Iām walking somewhere, I will literally go out of my way to step on a leaf hoping itās crunchy.
Walking in nature just makes me feel grounded and connected with this new season.
Just taking in all the beautiful scenery, and taking lots of pictures.
itās a lot of fun, specially with a pumpkin spiced latte in hand.
But then again, so are most things.
That is all this weeks post.
I hope you have a great week, and let me know what is it that you do to romanticize your life, and how will you be doing that this season?
Let us know in the comments.
Love, Dee.
